Devotional
We’re so impatient, even to the blessings of God in our lives. Indeed, the Scripture says in Proverb 10:22, “The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” Another translation says, “…without painful toil for it”. This is always true when we have acquired a proper formation and development that’s necessary to attain God’s blessing; if not, it becomes a burden to us. Because your formation determines your blessing and how well you are formed will determine the weight of blessing that God can trust with you.
Key Scripture
For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son…Romans 8:29 ESV
Refreshing for the Day
Your foundation, formation and development in life determine the weight and size of your blessings.
A man planted orange trees in his farm land, and one of them had so many oranges on it that a couple of the branches started to touch the ground. There were more oranges on the end of this small branch, about a half an inch in diameter. Because the branches couldn’t carry the weight, the oranges didn’t develop properly.
Beloved, sometimes we’re wondering: why we’re not seeing more fruit? Why won’t God bless me, give me more influence, more favor, more opportunity? It may be because our branches can’t carry the weight right now. If God gives you 10 oranges, but your branch can only sustain three it’s not a blessing, it’s a burden. So, instead of focusing on the blessing, focus on developing your branches, and you’ll be able to handle the weight of the blessing. Stay Blessed!
