Devotional
In our journey through life, we often find ourselves chasing after various goals—career success, material wealth, personal achievements, and social status. These pursuits can dominate our time and energy, promising satisfaction, and happiness. However, as Paul writes in Philippians 3, all these gains are ultimately worthless compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Christ.
Key Scripture
But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ.Philippians 3:7-8 (NIV)
Refreshing for the Day
Paul’s transformation from a zealous Pharisee, who took pride in his accomplishments and heritage, to a humble servant of Christ, exemplifies the radical change that occurs when one encounters the living Christ. He regarded his past accolades as “garbage” or “rubbish” because they paled in comparison to the richness of a life in Christ. Stay Refreshed!
