Devotional
Again, consider the story of Esther. It was a powerful example of serving God without reservation. Esther, a young Jewish woman, was placed in a position of influence as queen during a time of great peril for her people. When Haman, a high-ranking official, plotted to annihilate the Jews, Esther was faced with a critical decision: remain silent and protect herself, or risk her life to save her people. However, she chose to put her life on the line, for her people. This was not a decision made lightly; it was a decision grounded in her trust in God’s sovereignty and her willingness to be used for God’s purposes.
Key Scripture
… Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: ‘Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.Esther 4:14-16, NIV
