Devotional
Until the Spirit of God clothes us with power, we may keep on struggling to remove what is blocking our growth. Just like the case of Gideon in Judges 6:34, when the Spirit of God clothed him with his power, he got out from under the fear and intimidation that was rocking his destiny. God breathed on his life a new way, and he received the strength, the courage and boldness he had never seen before. He gathered men, went out and smashed the Midianites overnight.
Key Scripture
Then the Spirit of the LORD clothed Gideon with power. He blew a ram’s horn as a call to arms, and the men of the clan of Abiezer came to him.Judges 6:34 NLT
Refreshing for the Day
But the choice to remove what is blocking our growth is entirely ours to make. Sometimes, the season we’re in the shade is what we saw modelled as we grew up. We were raised by people that were negative, and surrounded with mediocres, and negativity becomes normal to us. For some people fear to rise to the top has been blocking and holding down their family for years, they now see struggling and living below average as normal. But that’s not who we are. We are bold, we’re courageous, we’re mighty men of valor! We need to change our mindset.
So, as God pours down His Spirit upon us in this meeting, we must rise to make the choice to remove everything that’s blocking our growth in life and destiny. If Gideon would rise from hiding in the winepress to become a mighty hero (Heb 11:32-34) we too can make it, but we need to make the choice today. Stay Refreshed!
