Devotional
Beloved, I want to share with you today about “You have been made right in Christ.” We all have a deep need and desire to feel alright about ourselves. And we can spend a lot of time and energy trying to do things that make us feel like we’re right—right with ourselves, with others and even with God. But the truth is, we don’t need to wear ourselves out trying to be right with God through our own effort. For we can’t make our lives right on our own—we need God (2 Cor 3:5).
Key Scripture
He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious lovingkindness].2 Cor 5:21 AMP
Refreshing for the Day
So, beloved, God made Christ who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God. It’s not through being perfect or doing all the right things—rather it’s a gift we received when we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior (Eph. 2:8-9). Stay Refreshed!
Note This
We can feel right about ourselves, not because we do everything right, but because we have been made right by our faith in Christ Jesus.
Responsibility
So, thank God for the gift of righteousness in Christ Jesus and ask for the grace to always abide in Him.
