Devotional

When it comes to our everyday lifestyle, it’s important we ask: who comes first in the priority of things we do? It can be easy to put ourselves and our reputations first…or our friends…or our possessions. But the truth is, when we continue to put everything else ahead of the Lord, we cheat ourselves out of something good that God wants us to have. The Bible doesn’t mince words when it says in Matthew 6:33,

Key Scripture

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.
Matt 6:33 NLT

Refreshing for the Day

Beloved, I tell you, this simple lifestyle when committed to, is so gratifying and compelling. When you ignore it and refused to live by it, you would so mumble your life and would remain frustrated most of the time. In the chain of things you’d do, God is considered so inconsequential. You’d do your things and give time to God only when you have the time. You would put the necessary efforts to work, yet the results come so insignificant. You would so wonder, what went wrong? And the reaction would be, who comes first in your life? See, it’s not about the number of things we do, it’s simply about forming the lifestyle that works—put God first in your life and He will give you all other things you need. Stay Refreshed!

Note This

Success and the achievement in life don’t come on the number of activities we’re involved in, but the very few we began with God first could make the whole difference.

Responsibility

So, develop this lifestyle, deliberately put God first in all you do in life.

Pause in His presence

Prayer

O LORD, show me mercy, and give me the grace to put you first in my life, in Jesus’ Amen! (Go ahead and pray for other intentions as the Spirit leads)

Carry this with you

Prophetic Word

As you put God first in your life, may the Lord make you first among your equals, in the name of Jesus’ Amen!
