Keep Me on the Potter’s Wheel (6)

Surrendering to God’s Refining and Shaping Process God is the Potter, and we are the clay. His desire is to shape our lives into vessels that reflect His purpose and glory. This theme invites us to surrender to His hands—even when the process feels slow, uncomfortable, or unclear. On the Potter’s wheel, God removes what doesn’t belong, restores what is broken, and forms us into something new. As long as we remain surrendered, His shaping continues and His character is formed in us.

Focus

Stay Soft in the Potter’s Hands

Devotional

Clay can only be shaped while it is soft. Once it hardens, it resists the potter’s touch and cannot be formed the right way. This is why the potter works carefully and continuously before the clay dries. God desires the same posture from our hearts. Life can make us hard—through pain, disappointment, betrayal, or long seasons of waiting. When we harden our hearts, we resist God’s shaping. But when we stay soft—teachable, humble, and surrendered—God can continue His work.

Scripture Reading

• Ezekiel 36:26 — God gives a new heart, not a hardened one. • Psalm 95:7–8 — “Do not harden your hearts.” • Proverbs 3:5 — Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

Refreshing for the Day

Jeremiah 18 shows us that the clay remained in the potter’s hands. That is where transformation happens. A soft heart listens. A soft heart yields. A soft heart trusts. A soft heart allows God to shape you fully and beautifully. So, beloved, stay soft. The Potter is still shaping you. Stay Refreshed!

Note This

🫶 Soft hearts stay usable in the Potter’s hands.
