Surrendering to the Spirit’s Refining Work
Devotional
The Holy Spirit is like a refiner’s fire, working in our hearts to purify us and make us more like Christ. When we pray, “Insist on me, Holy Ghost,” we are asking the Spirit to remove anything in us that does not honor God. This requires surrender on our part, allowing the Spirit of God to do the deep, refining work in our hearts and minds. It may be uncomfortable, but the Spirit’s refining brings beauty out of our lives.
Scripture Reading
“This third I will put into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on My name, and I will answer them.” — Zechariah 13:9
