Grace Changes Everything
Devotional
One of the greatest lessons walking with Jesus has taught me is that grace changes everything. When I first understood God’s grace, I thought it simply meant that my sins were forgiven. That truth alone is wonderful beyond words. But as I continued walking with Christ, I discovered that His grace does much more than forgive. It transforms. It heals. It restores. It strengthens. It teaches. There was a time when I judged people too quickly because I did not understand the depth of God’s mercy toward me. I expected others to change as quickly as I wanted them to. But the more I experienced God’s patience in my own life, the more patient I became with others. I realized that the same grace that was changing me was also at work in them.
Grace also changed the way I saw myself. I no longer had to prove my worth through achievements or hide my weaknesses behind a perfect image. My identity became rooted in what Christ had done for me rather than what I could do for Him. His grace reminded me that I am loved before I perform, accepted before I achieve, and cherished because I belong to Him.
Scripture Reading
Ephesians 2:8–9 — “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith…” Titus 2:11–12 — The grace of God teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness. 2 Corinthians 12:9 — “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
Refreshing for the Day
Perhaps the greatest lesson grace taught me is this: I can never give to others what I have not first received from God. The more I receive His forgiveness, the more I forgive. The more I receive His kindness, the more I extend kindness. The more I receive His mercy, the more merciful I become. Looking back, I realize that grace has quietly reshaped every part of my life. It softened my heart, humbled my spirit, and taught me to see people through the compassionate eyes of Christ. What walking with Jesus taught me is this: Grace is not just God’s gift for the beginning of the Christian life. It is the strength by which we live every single day. The more deeply you experience God’s grace, the more beautifully His grace will flow through your life to others. Stay Refreshed!
