Devotional
Beloved, I want to talk to you about “Don’t live for yourself alone”. You see, this matter is so timely, and it tends to focus on the many challenges that borders around us. Most of us think if we can just get what we want, if we can just make all the money we want, all to ourselves, then we would be truly happy. But the truth is, no matter what we think we can accrue to ourselves, it will never make us totally happy. When we are so bent to acquire all things to ourselves alone, we may get a momentary thrill when we get them, but sooner or later, those things will become old, and we begin to seek for new things again. For human wants are insatiable. So, the Bible has this to say in Galatians 6:10,
Key Scripture
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.Galatians 6:10 NIV
Refreshing for the Day
Insights from our anchor Scripture has just shown that one of the ways that we can be really happy is to get our mind off ourselves alone and do as much as we can for other people. It simply means to have our mind full of ways that we can be a blessing to others, being helpful and good to people. Not only being helpful, but also doing that which promotes their spiritual well-being. And in order to do that, we have to ask God to help us get self out of the way. We shall continue tomorrow, but till then, have a Refreshed Day!
