Devotional

Beloved, we live in a world often shrouded in darkness, where troubles loom and challenges seem insurmountable, the call to be cheerful at all times might appear daunting, even unrealistic. Yet, as followers of Christ, we are beckoned to a joy that transcends circumstances, a cheerfulness rooted not in fleeting emotions, but in the unchanging character of God. Any wonder, the Bible says in Proverbs 17:22,

Key Scripture

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Proverbs 17:22 (NIV)

Refreshing for the Day

To be cheerful at all times does not mean denying the existence of pain or sorrow. Instead, it invites us to adopt a perspective illuminated by faith—a perspective that acknowledges the reality of trials while embracing the hope found in Christ. When we choose to be cheerful, we reflect the light of Christ into the world. Our conduct becomes a beacon of hope amidst the shadows, drawing others closer to the source of true joy. Our cheerful attitude becomes a testimony—a declaration of our confidence in God’s faithfulness and our assurance of His promises. Stay Refreshed!

To be cheerful is a choice, a deliberate act of trust in God’s goodness and sovereignty, regardless of the situation.
